With the CCS season still incomplete. Dunlop riders Santiago Villa and Jim Cohrs secure the coveted #1 CCS Plates in 4 different regions. Jim Cohrs tops the list, racing at 7 different tracks, and wins in over 50 individual races. Cohrs takes home the #1 plate for the Atlantic and Mid Atlantic regions. In the process, he is the champion in 16 classes and 8 track championships at Summit Point and NJMP While Cohrs was busy in the north, Santiago Villa was busy in the south securing the South East #1 plate. Although there is still a race in Homestead for the final Florida region, Villa has accumulated enough points for the #1 plate with 1 remaining event. Both riders, on Dunlop tires, rode hard and battled to the end for the Mid Atlantic and Southeast regions. Cohrs locking up his 2 champions ships last week at VIR, and Villa locking up both of his #1 plates this weekend at Jennings GP. “I wanted to win 3 regions like I did last year. Jim (Cohrs) is great warrior and he did not give it up. In the end he got the Mid Atlantic and I got the Southeast region.” said Santiago after the races at Jennings Oct 2nd 2011. |
