Short Bio
At age 13, Ron Mears got his hands on a 1973 Yamaha DT100 Enduro and a lifelong motorcycle passion was ignited. He’s rarely been without a bike since, from cruisers to crotch rockets, street to track, road to dirt.

In 2007 Ron earned his CMRA and CCS race licenses, winning two CCS Regional Championships in the next three years. A respectable showing at the 2011 CCS Race of Champions, plus numerous podiums and incredible sportsmanship, make Ron a highly-respected and successful racer.

Running sprints and endurance with CMRA and CCS, instructing for CCS’s race license schools, and coaching for Heartland Park Topeka’s Track Day Series keeps Ron at the track nearly 3 weekends a month. To take advantage of all that track time, he and his wife Suzanne created Tornado Bait Racing, a motorcycle race team that promotes racing as a sport for the whole family.

In 2011 Ron earned his AMA Pro Racing credentials and plans at least two AMA events in 2012, in addition to racing sprints and endurance with CMRA and CCS.
