Stefano Mesa capped a championship season with seven wins during the CCS Florida road race at Homestead Speedway on December 7. Mesa’s seven wins clinched the No. 1 Plate for the CCS Florida series, while fellow Dunlop rider Ryan Cabrera earned the No. 1 Plate for the CCS Florida Amateur class to give Dunlop a sweep of the No. 1 Plates this season.

Mesa rode Dunlop’s US Made Slicks to the winner circle this weekend, highlighted by an exciting hard-fought victory in the Grand Prix Unlimited Expert Shoot Out where he barely edged out fellow Dunlop rider Sean Dwyer. Beyond winning the overall points title, Mesa also captured the season championships in three race classes, SuperBike Unlimited Expert, Grand Prix Unlimited Expert, and GTO Expert. Dwyer joined Mesa in the top-three of the season points standings in both the SuperBike Unlimited Expert and Grand Prix Unlimited Expert classes.

Cabrera was dominant in Amateur series racing in 2014. His 1430 points were almost 300 points more than the second place rider in the final points standings and were nearly double the total of the third place finisher. Based on his excellence during the season, Cabrera was among the amateurs who qualified for advancement to the Expert ranks for 2015.

The 2015 CCS season is scheduled to start February 14-15, 2015 back at Homestead Speedway.
