DUNLOP & Race Tire Service Support The Wounded Warrior Project

Dunlop and Race Tire Service have partnered with the Wounded Warrior Project to raise money and awareness for wounded veterans through a unique auction program. The top 5 riders in each class at this past weekend’s Mid-Ohio AMA National autographed hats that were auctioned off to raise money for the military charity.

Hats were signed by riders such as Martin Cardenas, Josh Hayes, Jake Lewis and more. The riders participating in the auction felt a personal desire to give back to those who have proudly served our country.

“I’m very humbled and grateful for the sacrifices that these wounded soldiers have made for our country. I’m happy to be a part of Dunlop’s fundraising initiative,” said Steve Brubaker, President of Race Tire Service.

The Wounded Warrior Project honors and empowers wounded military service members. The organization creates a support system for returning service members and their families and focuses on both physical and mental health of veterans. They offer professional services, interactive programs and support tools necessary to overcome the challenges associated with re-adjustment to society.

Along with fundraising efforts, several wounded warriors joined Team Ohio Racing trackside and worked on motorcycles with the crew. “The way everyone made me feel a part of the team and not just a set of hands just blew me away. I was like a kid on Christmas morning. It is one of the highlights of my life,” said Sgt. Edward L. Stow, 2-7 Cav, 1st Cav Div, U.S. Army.

Sgt. Stow’s wife, Ashley, was also grateful for the experience. “I just have to say again thank you for all you and your crew and the Wounded Warrior Project did this weekend; not only for me but for my husband. He’s been back from 2 tours of Iraq for four years and I have never seen him that happy,” she said.
