DEGROSS, ROBARTS RIDE DUNLOPS TO WINS AT THE RIDGE
Dunlop riders Mark DeGross and Adam Robarts combined to win three races and added two second place finishes during WMRRA’s Memorial Day Weekend races at The Ridge Motorsports Park in Shelton, Washington, the second of six legs to the WMRRA 2014 race season.
DeGross and Robarts finished 1-2 in both the Open SuperBike and Formula Ultra races, with each rider winning one and placing second in the other. DeGross also claimed first place in the Open SuperSport race and joined with Alister MacKinnon and Andrew Rogers on the Spare Parts Ltd/Canright Construction team to win the six hour long endurance race on Monday. The team won by over three laps, using just one front tire (a Dunlop US made KR448 slick) and two rears (also a Dunlop US made slick) during the entire race. “The endurance race really showcased the tremendous combination of performance and durability from our US made Slicks,” Dunlop Race Tire Service President Steve Brubaker said. “Six hours of racing at those speeds and that high level of performance with just two rears and the same front. And the guys said they probably could have won the race without a tire change if they wanted.”
Two weekends through the WMRRA season and DeGross sits in first place in the overall standings with 362 points. Robarts is third in the standings with 266 points. The third leg of the season will take place on June 28-29, also at The Ridge.
Dunlop Race Tire Service will be back out at four tracks next weekend; Road America for the AMA National races, Roebling Road for WERA races, Thunder Hill for AFM races, and High Plains for ASMA races.
