Villa Breaks Middleweight Track Record at PBIR on Dunlop D211 Tires
August 22nd 2010, Palm Beach International Raceway (PBIR), Santiago Villa rode a flawless race in middleweight GTU and broke the PBIR 600cc track record at the CCS Florida Regional event. Villa competing on his Prieto Racing Suzuki GSX-R600 with Dunlop D211 Tires turned a blistering 1:17.647 on lap 5 of 9.
“I had the tires holding me to the ground and they stuck like glue. Prieto Racing had a fast bike for me and the Dunlop tires kept the horsepower to the ground”, said Santiago Villa after the race. “It was my tires that made the difference”.
Santiago Villa is currently leading the points in the CCS Florida Region, with Sean Dwyer and Charlie Mavros filling in the top 3 overall spots and all on Dunlop tires. Villa was the Florida #1 plate holder for 2007.
“With the level of competition we see here in Florida, it’s no wonder these records are falling”, said Henry DeGouw, race director of the CCS/Florida region, after he confirmed the record breaking run.
